| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho teve como objetivo conhecer o olhar das mulheres indígenas sobre a violência doméstica. Os primeiros passos para a chegada ao objeto de pesquisa começaram no ano de 2014, quando visitei uma Aldeia indígena no Extremo Sul do Estado da Bahia para realizar diálogos sobre o tema da violência doméstica e foi nesse contexto que passei a perceber que a organização social indígena exige que se pensem as políticas públicas de forma diferenciada para esses povos. A Aldeia mencionada, no entanto, não foi o destino final desta investigação por uma decisão dos homens da comunidade, o que me levou a conhecer outra Aldeia da etnia Pataxó, no município de Porto Seguro/ BA, liderada por uma mulher, onde realizei este trabalho de pesquisa de 2015 a 2017. Para responder os questionamentos suscitados nesta investigação priorizei a utilização de técnicas da pesquisa etnográfica para a extração dos dados, tendo realizado diversas aproximações com a comunidade através de visitas aos locais de socialização das mulheres indígenas (escola, igreja e casas de farinha), acompanhando a participação delas em diversos eventos onde se debatiam questões de gênero e participando de atividades culturais da comunidade. Durante a observação participante realizei entrevistas informais com mulheres e homens que me ajudaram a entender algumas teias societárias e, também, fiz entrevistas semiestruturadas com cinco interlocutoras de diferentes idades, nas quais abordei diretamente a questão da violência doméstica. O estudo revelou uma diversidade no entendimento do que seja violência doméstica e esta é movida por diversas influências, dentre elas: a escola, a igreja e a militância. Além disso, ao longo do trabalho, o conceito de agência é mobilizado para mostrar que as mulheres indígenas conseguem driblar situações adversas dentro dos seus relacionamentos e que, também, estão buscando criar mecanismos de superação da violência doméstica dentro e fora das instituições formais. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.abstract2 | The present study aimed to know the indigenous women's views about domestic violence. The first steps towards arriving at the research object began in 2014, when I visited an indigenous village in the extreme south of the state of Bahia to hold dialogues on the topic of domestic violence and it was in this context that I came to realize that indigenous social organization requires that public policies be considered differently for these peoples. The village mentioned, however, was not the final destination of this investigation by a decision of the men of the community, which led me to meet another village of the Pataxó ethnic group, in the city of Porto Seguro/ BA, which has a woman as a leader, where I carried out this research between 2015 and 2017. In order to answer the questions raised in this research, I prioritized the use of ethnographic research techniques for data extraction, having made several approaches to the community through visits to the sites of socialization of indigenous women (school, church and flour houses), accompanying their participation in various events where they discussed gender issues and participating in cultural activities of the community. During the participant observation, I conducted informal interviews with women and men who helped me understand some societal webs, and also did semi-structured interviews with five interlocutors of different ages, in which I directly addressed the issue of domestic violence. The study revealed a diversity in the understanding of domestic violence, and this is driven by a variety of influences, including school, church, and militancy. In addition, throughout the work, the concept of agency is mobilized to show that indigenous women are able to overcome adverse situations within their relationships and that they are also seeking to create mechanisms inside and outside the formal institutions to overcome domestic violence. | |
