| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho analisa as relações de trabalho estabelecida entre vaqueiros e fazendeiros no sertão baiano do século XIX, tendo como intuito investigar as estratégias de ação e a cultura política dos vaqueiros em relação aos fazendeiros, partindo da premissa de que os vaqueiros tinham clara noção de sua condição de subalternidade, mas, mesmo assim, buscavam através das relações obter dos seus patrões vantagens para si e seus pares. Acredito ainda que tratar dessas relações significa reconhecer todas as extensões e ambiguidades, diferentemente do que foi propagado ao longo do tempo pela vasta literatura, pois o vaqueiro era visto apenas como um sujeito fiel e submisso, contrapondo-se a isso, o analiso englobando também os conflitos, as negociações e resistências. Para isso, utilizo fontes que possibilitam uma maior proximidade a essa relação: processos crimes sobre furto de animais, os quais proporcionaram acessar não somente aos embates mais contundentes, como também às mais diversas formas sutis presentes nas relações de poder e na política de dependentes. Assim, durante o decorrer da pesquisa foi se tornando cada vez mais evidente a importância do vaqueiro para o bom desenvolvimento da pecuária. E que para além disso, as relações estabelecidas apontaram, bem como os estudos mais recentes sobre a temática, que elas são muito mais complexas do que foi construído e defendido historicamente, pois não são permeadas apenas por afetividade, confiança e honra, mas também por conflitos e jogo de interesses. | dc.description.abstract2 | This work analyzes the established labor relations between cowboys and farmers in the backlands of the nineteenth century. In order to investigate the strategies of action and the political culture of the cowboys in relation to the ranchers, it starting from the premise that the cowboys had a clear notion of their condition and through the relationships sought to obtain from their bosses advantages for themselves and their peers. I also believe that dealing with these relationships means recognizing all the extensions and ambiguities and, unlike what has been propagated over time, the cowherd must be analyzed beyond the visions of fidelity and submission, encompassing also the conflicts, negotiations and resistances. For this, I use sources that make it possible to be closer to this relationship: crimes related to animals theft, which have provided access not only to the most powerful attacks but also to the most diverse subtle forms present in power relations and dependent politics. Thus, during the course of the research it became increasingly evident the importance of the cowboy for the good development of livestock. Moreover, established relationships have pointed out, as well as recent studies on the subject, that they are much more complex than they were built and defended over time, because they are not only permeated by affection, trust and honor, but also by conflicts and the play of interests. In this way, there is no way to treat such relations without their extensions, complexities and particularities.he work followed the trajectory of Colonel Guilhermino Soares da Rocha, one of the richest men in Jacobean village in the 19th century. The main objective is to understand the interpersonal relations established by colonel with people alike, and average people for the junior achievement of benefits for themselves and their families.
