| dc.description.abstract | Os trabalhos aqui reunidos se referem à atenção que o autor dos mesmos tem dedicado à produção musical de negros, particularmente, na cidade de Salvador. Portanto, a pergunta “O que fazer com o cabelo de Marly?” enfatiza, por um lado, um diferencial de gênero nas relações raciais, mas, por outro lado, considerando a força simbólica do cabelo crespo do negro, sustenta uma pergunta monumental que o povo negro se fez e se faz após a abolição da escravatura e advento de uma potencial sociedade moderna, autodefinida como igualitária e sem restrições étnicas e raciais: o que fazer com o cabelo, mas também o que fazer com o corpo, a consciência, a história e a condição social negra em um país que convoca ao mesmo tempo em que interdita a cidadania e condição de sujeito negro. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.abstract2 | The collected works here reflect the author's dedicated attention to the musical production of Black people, particularly in the city of Salvador. Thus, the question "What to do with Marly's hair?" emphasizes, on one hand, a gender differential in racial relations. On the other hand, considering the symbolic power of Black kinky hair, it poses a monumental question that Black people have asked and continue to ask since the abolition of slavery and the advent of a potentially modern society, self-defined as egalitarian and without ethnic and racial restrictions: what to do with the hair, but also what to do with the Black body, consciousness, history, and social condition in a country that simultaneously invites and restricts the citizenship and subjectivity of Black individuals.
