| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho é resultado de análise bibliográfica da obra “Gabriela, cravo e canela”, de autoria do escritor baiano Jorge Amado, que revela apropriação da cultura negra ao apresentar ao leitor enredo que traz personagens transgressoras, como Gabriela, Malvina e Sinhazinha contradizendo todos os princípios da época em que a trama se passa. A despeito da existência de mais de uma personagem com essa característica, esta análise tem como foco principal a protagonista Gabriela. Para tanto, foi feito um breve panorama sobre a literatura afro-brasileira e sua importância que, apesar de sua literariedade, ainda sofre marginalização, tal qual as mulheres que viviam na época do conservadorismo e tradicionalismo. Mulheres negras lutaram para conseguirem um lugar por direito na sociedade, viviam em um tempo conservador, sendo obrigadas a seguirem regras impulsionadas pelo pai ou marido, sem ter voz para opinar e reagir contra o machismo e preconceito que lhes eram impostos. Com isso, a mulher negra lutou para ocupar seu espaço através de movimentos que abriram novos caminhos para o reconhecimento de sua identidade. O negro foi ocultado, vivendo como objeto e não como sujeito, mas a literatura afro-brasileira é caracterizada pela sua temática principal, ou seja, pelo negro como sujeito de sua própria história. Como referencial teórico, foram importantes considerações como as de Amado (1959/2008); Algranti (1993); Bernd (1988); Del Priori (2003); Freyre (1900), Hall (2009/2011); Munanga (1998); Ribeiro (1995), Patrício (1999) e outros que contribuíram para a realização desta pesquisa. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | This work is the result of a bibliographical analysis of the work Gabriela, harpsichord and cinnamon, authored by the Bahian writer Jorge Amado, which reveals the appropriation of black culture by presenting the reader with transgressors such as Gabriela, Malvina and Sinhazinha - represented in a sensual way - contradicting all the principles of the time in which the plot takes place. In spite of the existence of more than one character with this characteristic, this analysis has as main focus the protagonist Gabriela. For that, a brief overview was made of Afro-Brazilian literature and its importance that, despite its literary nature, is still marginalized, such as women who lived in the era of conservatism and traditionalism. Black women fought to get a rightful place in society, lived in a conservative time, being forced to follow rules driven by their father or husband, without having a voice to speak out and react against the machismo and prejudice imposed on them. With this, the black woman struggled to occupy her space through movements that opened new avenues for the recognition of her identity. The Negro was concealed, living as an object and not as a subject, but Afro-Brazilian literature is characterized by its main theme, that is, by the Negro as the subject of his own history.
