| dc.description.abstract | O trabalho de pesquisa que deu origem a esta monografia teve como objetivo estudar o romance On the Road: pé na estrada, de Jack Kerouac (2007). Nos Estados Unidos da década de 1950, após a Segunda Guerra Mundial, iniciou-se o período de crescimento econômico, que representou a busca de liberdade para a juventude. As partes mais ricas da população dos EUA começaram a se estabelecer nos subúrbios das grandes cidades e a consumir bens duráveis em uma escala muito maior do que costumavam. Nesse cenário, emergiram movimentos de contestação, protagonizados por indivíduos que faziam parte das classes menos favorecidas que permaneceram nos grandes centros urbanos. Dentre eles, podemos identificar o movimento conhecido como Movimento Beat. Nessa perspectiva, o objetivo da pesquisa apresentada nesta monografia é compreender quais elementos do romance o tornam singular, a ponto de ser atribuída a ele a influência sobre o Movimento Beat, bem como, ser uma influência relevante na sua criação. Como procedimentos metodológicos, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica qualitativa no intuito de analisar e discutir sobre a influência que o livro On the Road pode ter tido em relação à criação do Movimento Beat. Sendo assim, abordamos os principais fatores sobre a vida de Jack Kerouac, que foi nomeado como o pai do movimento Beat, o que foi a escrita Beat e a relação que Jack Kerouac teve com os outros influenciadores desse movimento, seus amigos Allen Ginsberg e Willian Burrougs. Em seguida, apresentamos o contexto histórico dos Estados Unidos e o surgimento do Movimento Beat na década de 1950, a escrita Beat e a relação com a literatura e como os jovens foram representados no livro On the Road. E por fim, foram realizadas análises e discussões sobre o livro On the Road, de Jack Kerouac, e sua interrelação com o Movimento Beat. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | The research work that gave rise to this monograph aimed to study the novel On the Road: Pé na Estrada, by Jack Kerouac (2007). In the United States in the 1950s, after World War II, the period of economic growth began, which represented the search for freedom for youth. Wealthier parts of the US population tried to settle in the suburbs of big cities and consume durable goods on a much larger scale than they used to. In this scenario, protest movements emerged, led by individuals who were part of the less favored classes who remained in large urban centers. Among them, we can identify the movement known as the Beat Movement. In this perspective, the objective of the research presented in this monograph is to understand which elements of the novel make it unique, to the point of being attributed to it the influence on the Beat Movement, as well as being a relevant influence in its creation. As methodological procedures, a qualitative research was carried out in order to analyze and discuss the influence that the book On the Road may have had in relation to the creation of the Beat Movement. Therefore, we approach the main factors about the life of Jack Kerouac, who was baptized as the father of the Beat movement, what was Beat writing and the relationship that Jack Kerouac had with the other influencers of this movement, his friends Allen Ginsberg and Willian Burrougs .Then, we present the historical context of the United States and the inherent Beat Movement in the 1950s, Beat writing and its relationship with literature and how young people were represented in the book On the Road. And finally, the book On the Road, by Jack Kerouac, and its interrelationship with the Beat Movement were analyzed and discussed. | |
