| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho investiga o filme Nada de novo no front (1930), de Lewis Milestone, relacionando sua produção, recepção e estética ao contexto histórico e cinematográfico das décadas de 1920 e 1930. Adaptado do romance de Erich Maria Remarque, o filme tornou-se um marco pelo realismo na representação da Primeira Guerra Mundial e pela repercussão cultural e política, incluindo críticas e censuras. A pesquisa adota uma abordagem qualitativa, articulando revisão bibliográfica, análise fílmica e estudo documental de materiais de época. Fundamenta-se em referenciais teóricos que compreendem o cinema como fonte histórica, em especial a perspectiva de Marc Ferro, Michelet Lagny e Robert Rosenstone Ao observar os elementos narrativos e estéticos empregados por Milestone, buscou-se compreender como o cinema constrói sentidos sobre o conflito, influencia percepções sociais e consolida o gênero de guerra no cenário internacional. A análise contribui para discutir a interseção entre história e cinema, evidenciando a relevância de Nada de novo no front como documento cultural e histórico. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | This study investigates the film All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), directed by Lewis Milestone, relating its production, reception, and aesthetics to the historical and cinematic context of the 1920s and 1930s. Adapted from the novel by Erich Maria Remarque, the film became a landmark due to its realism in portraying the First World War and its cultural and political impact, including criticism and censorship. The research adopts a qualitative approach, combining a bibliographic review, film analysis, and documentary research using period materials. It is grounded in theoretical frameworks that understand cinema as a historical source, particularly the perspectives of Marc Ferro, Michèle Lagny, and Robert Rosenstone. By examining the narrative and aesthetic elements employed by Milestone, the study seeks to understand how cinema constructs meanings about the conflict, influences social perceptions, and consolidates the war film genre on the international stage. The analysis contributes to discussions on the intersection between history and cinema, highlighting the relevance of All Quiet on the Western Front as a cultural and historical document. | |
