| dc.description.abstract | O presente estudo visa analisar como se deu a formação e a importância do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais do município de Barrocas, Bahia. A escolha do tema se deu a partir de uma necessidade de compreender como estes trabalhadores rurais se utilizaram do movimento sindical para dar voz às suas insatisfações e às suas reivindicações de melhoria social. Através da análise de documentos presentes no próprio Sindicato (como Livros de Atas e o Estatuto Social), foi possível perceber como a luta deste órgão permitiu uma evidente melhoria nas condições de vida dos agricultores, mas permitiu perceber também como ainda é necessária a luta para a permanente conquista de direitos muitas vezes negados pelo próprio Estado. O artigo foi estruturado da seguinte forma: uma breve história do movimento sindical à nível nacional, a formação da cidade de Barrocas e do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais do município e, então, as ações sindicais visando o desenvolvimento rural local. | dc.description.abstract2 | The present study aims to analyze how the formation and importance of the Rural Workers Union in the municipality of Barrocas, Bahia, took place. The choice of the theme was based on a need to understand how these rural workers used the union movement to give voice to their dissatisfactions and their demands for social improvement. Through the analysis of documents present in the Union itself (such as Books of Minutes and the Social Statute), it was possible to understand how the struggle of this body allowed an evident improvement in the living conditions of farmers, but also allowed us to understand how the struggle for the permanent conquest of rights often denied by the State itself is still necessary. The article was structured as follows: a brief history of the union movement at national level, the formation of the city of Barrocas and the municipality's Rural Workers' Union and, then, union actions aimed at local rural development.
