dc.description.abstractO presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar e discutir os aspectos socioeconômicos advindos da inserção da empresa de minério de ferro, Bahia Mineração-BAMIN, no município de Caetité-Ba. Nessa perspectiva, buscou-se descrever a atuação da empresa no município, investigar os indicadores socioeconômicos após a inserção do empreendimento e identificar a percepção da população quanto aos efeitos socioeconômicos derivados da empresa nessa cidade. Os resultados da pesquisa evidenciam que houve uma progressão significativa no Produto Interno Bruto do município durante o período de estudo (2009 – 2011) destacando os setores da indústria e serviços com as maiores médias de crescimento nesse período. O Índice De Desenvolvimento Humano caetiteense durante o período de 2000 a 2010 também aumentou de forma expressiva, demonstrando evolução do crescimento econômico local. A taxa de desocupação da população economicamente ativa diminuiu a um percentual de mais de 41% no período de 2000 a 2010, o que evidenciou maior oferta de emprego no mercado de trabalho caetiteense. Contudo, os Indicadores de Performance Econômica E Social do município, IPE e IPS, demonstram que entre os anos de 2006 e 2010, o município de Caetité-Ba pouco se desenvolveu. Quanto à percepção da população, verificou-se que em sua opinião os Índices de Performance Econômica cresceram bastante enquanto os Índices De Performance Social apresentaram pouco crescimento. Apesar da maioria dos participantes acreditarem que a BAMIN gerou emprego e renda para a cidade e que essa empresa é importante para o crescimento, ficou claro que boa parte da população tem conhecimento de que ainda fazem necessárias mudanças para uma melhor qualidade de vida, destacando-se as áreas da saúde, educação e infraestrutura que apresentaram pouco progresso.pt_BR
dc.description.abstract2The present study aimed to identify and discuss the socioeconomic aspects arising from insertion of the iron ore company, Bahia Mineração - BAMIN, in the municipality of CaetitéBa. In this perspective, we sought to describe the performance of the company in the municipality, to investigate the socioeconomic indicators after insertion of the company and identify the perception of the population about the social and economic impacts arising from the performance of the company in this city. The survey results showed that there was a significant progression in the Gross Domestic Product of the municipality during the period of the study (2009 - 2011) emphasizing the sectors of industry and services with the highest average growth in this period. The Human Development Index of the city during the period from 2000 to 2010 also increased significantly, demonstrating the evolution of local economic growth. The unemployment rate of the economically active population decreased at a rate of over 41% in the period from 2000-2010, which evidenced greater supply of jobs in the labor market in the city of Caetité. However, the Economic and the Social Performance Index of the municipality, IPE and IPS, show that between the years 2006 and 2010, the city of Caetité – BA, had a little development. Regarding the perception of the population, it was verified that in his opinion the performance index grown a lot, while the Economic and the Social Performance Index showed a little growth. Although the majority of research participants believe that BAMIN generated employment and income for the city and that the company is important to its growth, the research shows clearly that much of the population knows that changes for a better quality of life are still necessary, mainly in the areas of health, education and infrastructure which showed little progress.
