| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho busca compreender o protagonismo de sujeitos acusados de heresia na Segunda visita do Santo Ofício às terras da Bahia, em 1618. Discute-se também de forma breve a trajetória da máquina inquisitorial até sua chegada ao Brasil pela primeira vez sob encargo do Inquisidor Heitor Furtado de Mendonça, dando início à malha teatral que cobriu todo o território da colônia por quatro vezes. Aqui, são apresentadas as engrenagens da máquina inquisitorial e como a mesma estava articulada para atender as demandas contidas no regimento de 1613, especificamente na segunda visitação, além de abordar a figura incógnita do Inquisidor Marcos Teixeira frente à segunda grande visita do Tribunal do Santo Ofício. Culminando no recolhimento de diversas denúncias e confissões, esta pesquisa apresenta alguns casos específicos de sujeitos considerados hereges que se tornaram protagonistas de suas histórias, analisando suas estratégias para burlar ou se livrar dos cárceres inquisitoriais. Tudo isso graças ao acesso aos livros das denúncias e das confissões que foram produzidas aqui na Bahia no período de 1618 e 1620, temporalidade na qual acontecia a segunda grande visita do Santo Ofício ao Brasil. Nestes documentos estão contidas informações detalhadas acerca das pessoas que passaram pelas audiências do Tribunal da Inquisição. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | The present work seeks to understand the protagonism of subjects accused of heresy in the Second visit of the Holy Office to the lands of Bahia in 1618. The history of the inquisitorial machine is also briefly discussed until its arrival in Brazil for the first time under the Inquisitor's charge Heitor Furtado de Mendonça, beginning the theatrical mesh that covered the whole territory of the colony four times. Here the gears of the inquisitorial machine are presented and how it was articulated to meet the demands contained in the regiment of 1613, specifically in the second visitation, besides addressing the incognito figure of the Inquisitor Marcos Teixeira in front of the second great visit of the Tribunal of the Holy Office . Culminating in the collection of several denunciations and confessions, this research presents some specific cases of subjects considered heretics who became protagonists of their stories, analyzing their strategies to circumvent or get rid of inquisitorial prisons. All this thanks to the access to the books of the denunciations and the confessions that were produced here in Bahia in the period of 1618 and 1620, temporality in which happened the second Great visit of the Holy Office to Brazil.
