dc.description.abstractO presente estudo analisa o impacto do Wattpad no hábito de leitura e na democratização do acesso à leitura. A pesquisa investiga a evolução do comportamento leitor ao longo do tempo, especialmente em ambientes digitais, utilizando uma metodologia que inclui pesquisa bibliográfica e um formulário digital. Os resultados revelam o perfil dos leitores do Wattpad, suas preferências literárias e a dinâmica da interação autor-leitor. Assim como compreende quais foram as principais mudanças nas concepções de leitura e escrita no decorrer dos anos, além de debater como a tecnologia influencia a forma como lemos e escrevemos hoje em dia e quais são os desafios e oportunidades do letramento digital, que é a capacidade de usar a tecnologia para ler, escrever e se comunicar de forma eficaz. Destaca ainda como as práticas de leitura na cibercultura, que envolvem a análise do comportamento dos leitores nos ambientes virtuais, e como a cibercultura influencia as práticas de leitura, interações sociais e participação em comunidades virtuais. A pesquisa tem como destaque a plataforma digital de leitura Wattpad e sua influência no mundo contemporâneo. Por fim, o trabalho oferece uma contribuição significativa para o entendimento da transformação do comportamento leitor, integrando teoria e dados empíricos para enriquecer o conhecimento acadêmico. Conclui-se que a plataforma desempenha um papel vital na democratização e promoção da leitura, destacando-se como uma ferramenta significativa na sociedade atual.
dc.description.abstract2The present study analyzes the impact of Wattpad on reading habits and the democratization of access to reading. The research investigates the evolution of reading behavior over time, especially in digital environments, using a methodology that includes bibliographical research and a digital form. The results reveal the profile of Wattpad readers, their literary preferences and the dynamics of author-reader interaction. As well as understanding what the main changes in the conceptions of reading and writing have been over the years, in addition to debating how technology influences the way we read and write nowadays and what are the challenges and opportunities of digital literacy, which is the ability to use technology to read, write and communicate effectively. It also highlights how reading practices in cyberculture, which involve the analysis of readers' behavior in virtual environments, and how cyberculture influences reading practices, social interactions and participation in virtual communities. The research highlights the digital reading platform Wattpad and its influence on the contemporary world. Finally, the work offers a significant contribution to the understanding of the transformation of reading behavior, integrating theory and empirical data to enrich academic knowledge. It is concluded that the platform plays a vital role in the democratization and promotion of reading, standing out as a significant tool in today's society.
