| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho investiga as práticas de reza e de benzeção, desenvolvendo uma análise de campo centrada nos municípios de Caetité e Guanambi, situados no Alto Sertão Baiano, evidenciando como essas manifestações se mantêm vivas no contexto atual e continuam a desempenhar um papel essencial na vida daqueles que a procuram. Os benzedores são compreendidos como guardiões de saberes antigos, transmitidos oralmente e fundamentados na fé, no cuidado e na experiência cotidiana. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida a partir de revisão bibliográfica e de uma investigação de campo, utilizando formulários e entrevistas tanto com pessoas que recorrem aos benzedores quanto com os próprios praticantes. Por meio desses relatos, foi possível identificar as principais práticas, símbolos religiosos e o uso das ervas nas rezas e curas, além de compreender a relevância social e cultural dessas ações. Observou-se que, mesmo diante das mudanças sociais, urbanas e culturais, o ato de benzer permanece como expressão de solidariedade, espiritualidade e continuidade dos saberes populares, reafirmando a força da religiosidade no cotidiano. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | This study investigates prayer and benzeção practices, developing a field analysis focused on the municipalities of Caetité and Guanambi, located in the Alto Sertão Baiano region, highlighting how these manifestations remain alive in the current context and continue to play an essential role in the lives of those who seek them. The benzedores are understood as guardians of ancient knowledge, transmitted orally and based on faith, care, and everyday experience. The research was developed from a literature review and field investigation, using questionnaires and interviews with both people who seek out benzedores and the practitioners themselves. Through these reports, it was possible to identify the main practices, religious symbols, and the use of herbs in prayers and healings, as well as to understand the social and cultural relevance of these actions. It was observed that, even in the face of social, urban, and cultural changes, the act of blessing remains an expression of solidarity, spirituality, and continuity of popular knowledge, reaffirming the strength of religiosity in everyday life. | |
