| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho tem como tema Lexicologia e cultura: o estudo do vocabulário africano na obra Tocaia Grande: a face obscura de Jorge Amado. Consiste numa pesquisa qualitativa de cunho bibliográfica, que tem como objetivo conhecer um pouco sobre a língua e a história desses sujeitos que foram “marginalizados” da historiografia brasileira. Esse estudo analisa as lexias religiosas que demarcam os vestígios do patrimônio africano e investiga as influências dos vocábulos de origem africana na cultura brasileira, especialmente da Bahia. A fundamentação teórica é elaborada através de conceitos da lexicologia, área que tem como objeto de estudo o léxico em todas as suas relações linguísticas, pragmática, discursiva, históricas e culturais. Para isso, tornou-se fundamental adotar como base de sustentação do trabalho as teorias de: ABBADE (2006 e 2009); BRITTO (2002); CASTRO (2001 e 2005); COSERIU (1987); SILVA (2007); dentre outros. O corpus foi selecionado mediante a leitura do romance Tocaia Grande: a face obscura (1984) do escritor baiano Jorge Amado, procurando através deste, realizar um levantamento das lexias religiosas representadas na referida obra, no intuito de mergulhar na herança cultural e na construção do "eu" individual e coletivo desse povo africano que tanto contribuiu para o desenvolvimento do Brasil em particular da Bahia. Desse modo, intenta-se um estudo diacrônico estrutural da significação das palavras, fundamentado na teoria dos campos lexicais proposta por Eugenio Coseriu. As lexias elencadas fazem referência à época em que o romance Tocaia Grande: a face obscura foi escrito, elas demarcam os traços linguístico-africanos, especialmente dos povos Ioruba (África Ocidental) e Banto (África Sub-Equatorial). Por fim, busca-se por meio da Lexicografia, a ciência dos dicionários, a descrição dos vocábulos africanos elencados na obra. Adota-se como base de sustentação o livro Falares Africanos na Bahia: um vocabulário afro-brasileiro de Yeda Pessoa de Castro (2001) para se atestar a origem das lexias identificadas na obra e assim concluir que o vocabulário relaciona-se à língua e a cultura de um povo. | |
| dc.description.abstract2 | The present work has as theme Lexicology and culture: the study of African vocabulary in the book Tocaia Grande: a face obscura by Jorge Amado. It consists of bibliographer research aiming to know better about the language and the history of those who were “marginalized” in the Brazilian history. This study analyses the religious lexis which delimits traces of African heritage and investigates the influence of African words in the Brazilian culture, especially in the state of Bahia. The theoretical foundation is made through the concepts of lexicology, an area that has as objective of study the lexis in all its linguistic, pragmatic, discursive, historic and cultural relations. For that, it was primordial to adopt as the foundation the theories of ABBADE (2006 e 2009); BRITTO (2002); CASTRO (2001 e 2005); COSERIU (1987); SILVA (2007); among others. The corpus was selected by reading the novel Tocaia Grande: a face obscura (1984) by Jorge Amado, aiming through this writer’s work, to perform a survey of religious lexis found in the referred novel, with the intention of analyze the cultural heritage and in the formation of the individual and collective identity from African people who have contributed immensely to Brazilian development, particularly to the state of Bahia. Thereby, it is aimed a structural diachronic study of the meanings of the words based on the lexical fields proposed by Eugenio Coseriu. The lexis listed refers to when Tocaia Grande: a face obscura was written, it delimitates the African linguistic traces, mainly Yoruba people (West Africa) and Bantu people (Sub-Equatorial Africa) and finally it is aimed, through the lexicology, the science of the dictionaries, to obtain the description of African words found in the referred work. The book Falares Africanos na Bahia: um vocabulário afro-brasileiro by Yeda Pessoa de Castro (2001) was adopted as base to attest the lexis in the studied book to conclude that the vocabulary is related to the language and folk culture.
