| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho investiga a representação social da mulher no romance A Hora da Estrela, analisando o desenraizamento da protagonista em meio à metrópole. A personagem apresentada é uma pobre alagoana órfã, que mal se lembrava de seus pais, pois perdera quando tinha dois anos de idade. Em virtude desta situação, foi criada por uma tia beata que tinha gosto por maltratar a garota. Com a morte da tia, a jovem sertaneja deixa o sertão nordestino em direção ao Rio de Janeiro em busca de uma melhor condição de vida, porém, ao chegar à cidade grande, se depara com uma metrópole construída contra ela, onde passa a viver à margem da sociedade carioca. Para alcançar o objetivo deste trabalho foi necessário construir um panorama sobre os vários enfoques que a autora elabora dentro do romance, dentre eles, a exclusão, a alienação e o insulamento da personagem Macabéa. Nesse percurso, nota-se, no entanto, que a autora conduz o leitor a debruçar-se numa narrativa repleta de questionamentos, críticas e ironias, tornando-a assim complexa, em função de tratar do lado introspectivo do ser humano. Macabéa sem tomar consciência de sua própria existência é o retrato de vários migrantes brasileiros que sonham com um futuro melhor, mas que infelizmente, deparam com uma sociedade que não valoriza as suas raízes, tradições, crenças e identidade. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.abstract2 | This paper investigates the social representation of women in the novel The Hour of the Star, analyzing the uprooting of the protagonist amidst the metropolis. The main character is a poor orphan from Alagoas, who barely remembers her parents because she had lost them when she was two years old. Given this situation, she was raised by a pious aunt who liked to abuse the girl. With the death of her aunt, the young girl from the backwoods leaves the northeast towards Rio de Janeiro in search of a better life. However, when arriving in the big city, she is faced with a metropolis built against her where she starts living on margins of society. In order to achieve the objective of this work it was necessary to construct an overview of the various approaches that the author elaborates within the novel including the exclusion of alienation and the isolation of the character Macabéa. Along the way, however, it can be noticed that the author guides the reader into a narrative full of questions, criticism and sarcasm, making it complex, due to the observation of the introspective side of the human being. Macabéa, without being aware of her own existence, is a portrait of several Brazilian migrants who dream of a better future but unfortunately face a society that does not value their roots, traditions, beliefs and identity | pt_BR |
